ARTHUR E. JONES EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND LEARNING FACILITY
“[My daughter] is the only student in her kindergarten classroom who can write her full name. Children's Place did that."
- Parent of a 2011 Early Learning Center graduate
The Arthur E. Jones Early Childhood Care and Learning Facility (ELC) provides specialized daycare services for children ages three months to five years that are affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic or other life-changing condition. For many this is their only opportunity for an early childhood education.
In our seven classrooms teachers deliver specialized curriculum which is customized to meet the needs of each individual child. Staff members are trained to handle many emotional, behavioral and social issues and a registered nurse is always available to assist with medical needs. Good nutrition is discussed and implemented throughout the program, to children and parents, and all meals served at the center follow USDA guidelines.
